Cody helped me wrap presents this year, although his help was a little on the wet side. His assistance consisted of trying to each paper, ribbons, cards and even the little bags holding gift cards.

Our first Thanksgiving in Iowa - what a treat! Of course I made TOO much food...but we all loved it. Our dear friends Jaime and Bill and their kids Sawyer and Bella joined us for our feast. Here are some pictures. Hope you all had a great turkey day!

Some great new milestones to talk about! Cody has been standing! With assistance, but nonetheless, he is putting pressure on his legs and standing for a minute or so at a time. He is so proud of himself! His vocal abilities are getting better too, although not in a way we want to encourage! Aside from the screaming at the top of his lungs, he has taken to fake coughing for attention. Of course, he gets that needed attention...but that is not something we want him to continue. His teeth are still bothering him, but I think it is getting better. And he still loves his sweet potatoes.
New stats! Approx 20lbs now...almost 30 inches. We have upgraded him to a convertible car seat - no more infant seat! The little man is now going on 6 months old!
He finally caught on to all the fun! Instead of just sitting in it like a lump, Mr. Cody now jumps and plays. I dread him outgrowing this thing - it is so much fun!
Look at me! I have a fuzzy MONKEY on my head, I barely fit in my chair because I have so many clothes on, I have no more fingers to chew on and I can't feel my toes!!! I want to go back to Florida where I can run around naked!! I am done with this crazy cold place!
Well then! It seems that Cody has finally discovered the little black furry creature with no tail...AKA Jessica or as we affectionately call her, little Rat.

Anyway, as Cody and I were playing on the floor, Jess wandered by. Probably not a good move on her part, because Cody immediately leaned over and removed a fistful of her fur. He gazed in wonderment at it, and then he did it again. He started to pet her. And, after being the baby for so long and then thrown out with yesterday's pizza when Cody was born , Jess was happy to be petted. Even if it was from a drooly monster pulling her fur out and eating it.
Well friends, it has happened. Two little white nubs just popped through the boy's gums. He handled it pretty well, just a little whiny. I can't believe he has teeth! He keeps growing up! (now I am whining a little!) I'll try to get a picture.
Hi everybody, Cody here. Just wanted to tell everybody that I ate sweet potatoes for the very first time! It was messy and fun and I loved it. Daddy took pictures for you all to see. Mommy will put them in order for me so you can see it live - in action! Here we go!
Starting out, I didn't know what we were doing. I know I had my bibbie on, so I was expecting my milk. Little did I know...they were going to put something orange in my mouth!
The spoon was cold and that orange stuff smelled funny!
I don't know what to make of this slimy stuff! It's all over my face and it dropped in my lap! Eeeewwww!
I don't know if I want anymore. Maybe if I swallow it? Wait, there may be something to this slime! Let's try again.

He loves this chair. His grandma and grandpa in Florida bought one for him to keep at their house, so I got him one to keep at our house. It is his big- boy chair and turns from an infant chair to a toddler rocker.

Cody rolled over from his back to his belly by himself for the very first time. I had him down on his back on a blanket on the floor with me sitting above him on the couch. I looked down and he had turned over on his belly and was looking up at me. What a day!
Can you tell? Soon I can eat french fries!! Do you think I will have them in time for Halloween? I can be Count Dracula!!!

I used to hate going into that hot soapy water. Remember the first time they made me take a bath? Way back when I was just a baby? I am a big boy now and I love my bath. I drench the kitchen with water! I make the kitties run and hide!
We had a blast last night with our friends Jaime and Bill and their sweet children, Sawyer and Bella. They made a fire in their yard and we sat around and tried to stay warm. Of course, they were dressed lightly while I was wearing a sweater, flannel and gloves. I am a FLORIDA girl!!!
